Trays

My favorite hardwoods for making trays are maple (flame or birdseye) for the base and, sapele, mahogany, padauk or walnut for the sides. Most tray bases combine two book-matched pieces obtained by splitting a thicker plank with interesting figures into two thinner planks. My typical tray size is 12" x 18" but I can custom make smaller or larger trays.
